About Me

I'm owner/partner of VideoProfile.tv,  a Sacramento, California-based video production and web company with a specialty in video resumes. Prior to this, I was a PMP-certified Project Manager with 14 years experience in the I.T. software industry, mostly as a Microsoft/Web programmer. More importantly, I have been a "gadget guru" for as long as I can remember holding a screwdriver and taking apart everything in the house. I was the kid who could fix the flashing 12:00 numbers on the VCR and owned a calculator watch.

These days, I maintain my passion for gadgets but find myself increasingly impatient with them. I'm on my 6th digital camera and they still don't work that intuitively. And nothing is worse than cellphones, "smart" or not.

In a lot of ways I prefer mechanical devices to electronic, such as my Bianchi road bicycle with Campagnolo components; or my 15-year old Rega Planer 3 turntable that seems to get better with age. But these days electronic gadgets are needed, and the ones that perform well can turn a chore into a bit of a thrill.

The iPhone will be the focus of this blog, but I reserve the right, if you'll indulge me, perhaps to write a few bits on GPS devices, cameras, and the like.
